Approach
Astra House Publishing, an NYC-based boutique publishing company, underwent an office relocation journey, starting with a lease for an empty office space. Our team led the transformation from a clean white box into a fully operational workspace tailored to their specific business needs.
Using our Space Design and Furniture Sourcing framework, we looked first at their team’s business needs and aspirations for this new space through collaborative discussions with the Astra House team. These conversations helped us craft an intentional, custom floor plan that prioritized functionality and met the demands of their dynamic work environment.
Once we had the floor plan and space strategy, we helped the client execute the entire project, guiding procurement and installation – coordinating with the tradesmen and IT teams to integrate technology solutions into their people-oriented space seamlessly.
Challenges and Adaptations
The project encountered a temporary setback with the onset of COVID-19, prompting a reassessment and modification of the floor plan to adhere to social distancing regulations. Alterations included expanding work surfaces, reducing the number of conference chairs, and introducing fabric screens in a stylish deep blue shade. These adaptations prioritized safety, reduced noise, and added privacy between workstations.
Result
In collaboration with OFH, Astra House Publishing's office transitioned into a thriving space that seamlessly aligns with the diverse demands of their working environment.
By taking a bespoke approach to the project, OFH ensured that the office space met the company’s objectives by understanding their specific requirements. Efficient management of manufacturers and trades and collaboration with the building landlord contributed to a successful buildout.
The result is a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing workspace that fosters focused individual work while offering versatile settings for collaborative endeavors.
